Spanish tennis star to miss Marbella tournament

International tennis star Rafael Nadal will be unable to take part in Spain’s Davis Cup quarter final against Germany. The tournament will be held at the bullring in Puerto Banus on the Costa del Sol between July 10 and 12.

Nadal, who has been suffering from knee problems, is set to be replaced with Nicolas Almagro, according to Spanish team skipper, Albert Costa.

The Spanish Tennis Federation has unveiled that the rest of the squad will consist of Fernando Verdasco, David Ferrer, Tommy Robredo and Feliciano Lopez.

Despite Nadal being absent from last year's tournament, Spain managed to win the Davis Cup for the third time, beating Argentina. This year, however, Costa predicts the game will be ‘tough and close’.
