On Tuesday evening, the coast’s British expat community gathered at Church Square in Marbella Old Town to celebrate the Costa del Sol’s first ever British Day.
The Royal British Legion opened the event with a solemn march and a minute’s silence to remember all those who fought for Queen and country back in the war.
Afterwards, the stage was awash with dancing and colour as the first of the night’s acts got the crowd warmed up.
As well as a fantastic variety of performances, the square was filled with stalls selling tea and biscuits, hotdogs, British beer and all decorated with Union Jack flags.
The event was organised by the Foreigners Department of Marbella Town Hall, the British Association of Marbella and the Royal British Legion and proved to be a huge success, setting the standard for what we hope will be many more British Days to come!
