Because immigrants now constitute around 10 per cent of Spain?s 46 million people, a new website has been launched by the Spanish Health Ministry to provide the country?s immigrant community with information about how the public health care system works.
The project has been developed by the School of Public Health in Andaluc?a and compiled by the Spanish government.
The website?www.riec.es can be viewed in five languages, with documents available in Spanish, English, French, Arabic and Romanian and has been designed to provide immigrants with up-to-the-minute information as well as a clearer idea of how Spain?s medical services operate.
